Born in Texas, Mark Wheaton began his writing career as a freelance reporter before becoming a screenwriter and producer on films like Friday the 13th, The Messengers, and the forthcoming Voice from the Stone. In addition, he created the comic book, The Cleaners, has scripted on a number of video games, and self-published several short stories and novellas including the cadaver dog-centric Bones series. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.

Mark Wheaton is the author of Amazon Publishing/Thomas & Mercer's Father Luis Chavez series about a young priest solving crimes in Los Angeles. He has also worked as a screenwriter ("Friday the 13th," "The Messengers,"), comic book scribe (Dark Horse's "The Cleaners"), and video game writer for Vivendi/Sierra.
